Lost frames in final video (concatenated)
Hi there,
after recording with 3 cameras per compuer at 75Hz with primary-secundary trigger (total 6 cameras and 2 computers), there seems to be a time lag between video-timestamps and overall clock with other experiment hardware.
So far, we found no discrepancy between the number of frames in the concatenated videos (VideoPyToolbox
) and the individual video parts:
ffprobe -select_streams v -show_streams input.avi
But this total number of frames differs from the recorded logfile (Diagnostics
), i.e. up to 270 frames are missing in a 20 minutes recording.
Additionally, on at least one of the videos, a chunk of missing frames were clearly visible, indicating that missing frames could be between video parts. Therefore, we would assume the .tmp
file could be complete (if diagnostics shows no missing frames, and see below), but BINtoAVI
may be loosing frames between parts while converting from .tmp
to .avi
.
Note: The problem could theoretically also occure during recording, i.e., cameras are logging the frames correctly but not saving them in the binary file.
